Spotlight on Office Manager, Margaret Thorne, fondly known as Mags here at Uplands.

Did you know Mags has been at Uplands for 31 years? Starting in April 1991, she has seen a lot of changes throughout the years as the company has developed and grown into the business it is today.

Here are some things you might not know about her…

Q. What job did you want to do when you were aged 10?
A. At that age, I was young and enjoying life and never thought about this as such.

Q. What has been your proudest achievement in life?
A. Standing on my own two feet after a divorce and being a proud grandmother.

Q. Tell us one thing you have learned during your time at Uplands?
A. No two days are the same, every day is what you make it.

Q. Tell us a quirky thing about yourself that people might find surprising
A. I adore watching international rugby games and went to New Zealand for the British Lions tour in 2005.

Q. Do you make five-year plans? Do you stick to them?
A. Not a five-year plan but every New Year I do plan my year ahead. I hate planning too far ahead, as it doesn’t happen as it should.

Q. Tell us one possession you couldn’t live without
A. My car – Fred. It takes me everywhere and I would be lost without it.
