Uplands Celebrates Two Years As a Carbon Neutral Business

We recognise the increasingly growing importance of adopting sustainable practises at work. At Uplands, we work hard to ensure we’re doing our bit to help combat climate change and create a greener future for the world.

Achieving carbon neutral status was a huge company milestone for us, and to be recognised as a sustainable business for the second year in a row is fantastic news for the team as we continue to show our commitment to ecological practises.

In order to reduce emissions and achieve zero net carbon as a business, we implemented a variety of carbon offsetting initiatives by instilling behavioural changes across our teams. It was also important to us that we work with suppliers and partners who share this same mindset.

Some of the carbon footprint assessment includes factors such as:

  • Transportation – calculating emissions from private or company car travel, air travel, and public transport such as trains and taxis
  • Energy – the amount of energy used in the workplace
  • Waste Disposal – emissions related to the distribution, use and disposal of company products

As our journey towards carbon neutrality continues, we remain committed to exploring new work practises and partnerships which can help to further reduce our ecological footprint and make a difference to the planet.

We would encourage our customers and supply chain to think about their own carbon impact and the changes they can make, like we have, to improve their outputs. The Carbon Footprint Standard is a recognised scheme that can help businesses to evaluate and improve their operations. We all have our part to play in making changes now that will have an impact in the future.
