Our Work with Local and Regional Charities

As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, businesses are recognising the importance of giving back to their communities. At Uplands, it’s paramount to us that we’re making a positive impact and helping to address and tackle issues in our local and wider communities.

We work with a number of different charities, supporting health, wellbeing, and children’s welfare. Here’s just a few of the organisations which we support…

  1. Cancer Research: Cancer Research is a leading charity dedicated to funding research, raising awareness, and finding better treatments and cures for cancer. They support scientists, doctors, and healthcare professionals to conduct ground-breaking research and clinical trials, aiming to improve cancer diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
  1. Hope House: Hope House is a local Swansea charity that focuses on providing care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. They offer a range of services, including respite care, counselling, and bereavement support, helping families cope with the emotional and practical challenges they face. Hope House aims to create a nurturing environment for children and their families during difficult times.
  2. Hope and Homes for Children: Hope and Homes for Children is an international charity committed to ensuring that every child has a loving family. They work towards ending institutional care for children and finding suitable family-based care alternatives. Their efforts involve strengthening child protection systems, supporting families, and advocating for policy changes to prioritize children’s well-being.

Paul Hooper, MD at Uplands Mobiles, comments on the teams’ ongoing work and dedication to these charities:

“Cancer research is a cause close to Uplands, and we all know only too well the devastation cancer causes. We have felt it in our family and friends, as well as our own office, far too often. The work that the charity does is vital to the ongoing battle against cancer, and we’re proud to support such a far-reaching organisation.

“I was introduced to the Hope and Homes charity by a friend, Nicker Hewer, who most may know as a businessman and television personality from The Apprentice, and since then we have been dedicated to supporting Hope and Homes charity for the last 10+ years.

“In addition to supporting these charities, Uplands also demonstrates a commitment to charitable causes through its other brand, The People’s Operator. The People’s Operator (TPO) is a mobile device provider that donates 10% of its profits to charitable causes. Through TPO, Uplands contributes to various good causes, including education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and community development. By choosing TPO as their mobile device provider, customers indirectly support these charitable endeavours.

“Uplands and its brand, The Peoples Operator, play an essential role in supporting charities that focus on cancer research, cancer support, children’s welfare, stroke rehabilitation, and family-based care for children. Our commitment to these causes helps make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by these challenges.”
