Green Dream Realised for Uplands, With Our New Zero Carbon Status

Uplands is delighted to announce that the company has been declared carbon neutral – a full eight years ahead of our original target date to reach this vital milestone.
Uplands has always been committed to accelerating the business to zero carbon – it is the right thing to do for the business, our customers and the planet.

We have been taking practical steps to achieve this by adopting wholesale energy efficiencies throughout the whole of our operations, with the intention of reaching our target by 2030. Our zero carbon status has now been verified by the Carbon Footprint Standard using criteria set by the Department for Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Department for Business, Environment & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) for reporting emissions.

The carbon footprint assessment is stringent, and it includes factors like electricity consumption, company car travel, grey fleet, air, rail and taxi travel. As well as instilling behavioural changes across our teams, and working with suppliers and partners who share a similar ethos, we also work with Carbon Footprint, to support climate change solutions around the world.

The impact we, as businesses and as individuals, have upon our planet is the most pressing issue facing us all today and we urge firms across all sectors to take up the challenge of lessening their impact. As we speak we are working towards becoming a Carbon Neutral Plus Organisation by further reducing our impact on the planet and working towards reversing climate change.
